Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Alluvium (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users of Alluvium, including visitors, registered users, and content contributors.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use Alluvium. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and that all information you provide is accurate, complete, and current. Alluvium reserves the right to terminate accounts that violate this requirement.
Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree not to share your password or allow any other person to access your account. You are fully responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at info@alluvium.co.za if you suspect your account has been compromised.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use Alluvium only for lawful purposes. You may not use the Service to publish content that is defamatory, fraudulent, or misleading; impersonate another person or entity; attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service; engage in any activity that disrupts or interferes with the Service; or scrape, copy, or reproduce any part of the Service without express written permission.
User-Generated Content
You retain full ownership of any content you create on Alluvium. By publishing content publicly on the platform, you grant Alluvium a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, distribute, and promote your content within the platform. You are solely responsible for the content you publish, and you warrant that it does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.
Intellectual Property
All elements of the Alluvium platform — including the name, logo, design, interface, and underlying code — are the intellectual property of Alluvium and are protected by applicable copyright and trademark law. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our intellectual property without express written consent.
Financial Information Disclaimer
Alluvium is a personal finance tracking tool and does not constitute financial advice. The content available on the platform — including user-generated blog posts and community discussions — is for informational purposes only. Always consult a qualified financial adviser before making financial decisions. Alluvium accepts no liability for financial decisions made based on content within the platform.
Service Availability
We strive to provide a reliable service, but we do not guarantee that Alluvium will be available at all times. The Service may be interrupted for maintenance, upgrades, or circumstances beyond our control. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of planned downtime in advance.
Termination
Alluvium reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from within your account settings. Upon termination, your private data will be deleted within 30 days per our Privacy Policy.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Alluvium shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid (if any) for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Gauteng, South Africa. If any provision of these Terms is found invalid, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email and in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of Alluvium after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
